Since September we have had the third BRAND.VIER action space in the Brandenburg Quarter
on the wrap. The refurbishment work in the Oderbruch action area is running thanks to lean management
like clockwork. A first milestone has now been reached. Brandenburg Minister of Infrastructure
Guido Beermann came in these days with – as he says himself – the biggest single check-in
this young year to Eberswalde and pledged 34,7 million euros, which we now
can invest in our portfolio in the Oderbruch action area.

"A great moment," said our board member Guido Niehaus, who spent the last few weeks of the
2022 was busy with the applications for it. “Overall, we are investing in
Action area Oderbruch 37,6 million euros in 174 apartments and the surrounding area. received for this
we now soft loans and grants. That makes it a little easier. Most of it
still has to be repaid,” says Guido Niehaus, pointing to the high risk of what
we go despite the commitments from the state of Brandenburg.

We benefit from two programs from the Brandenburg State Investment Bank. For the
We receive loans and grants in the amount of the conversion and restoration of living space
of 24,6 million euros. This affects 84 apartments, in which we, as in the
Aktionsraum Cottbus would like to realize new floor plans.

Another 13 million euros will be used to modernize and repair 90
Apartments. These remain in their floor plans, but benefit from the fact that we
completely rethink the system and thus upgrade it. 128 apartments are with a
Linked occupancy.

“Here we are processing a square with a spacious inner courtyard. The houses will be after the
renovation look very different than any other house in the district and also in the city,” reveals our
BRAND.VIER team leader Kerstin Köhler. “For example, we are presenting spacious arcades
some facades and make so many apartments barrier-free accessible. There will be tenant gardens
which flow smoothly into the inner courtyard. Inside we put contemporary plug-through
Floor plans from one building side to the next. It will be great,” says Kerstin Köhler.

The 174 apartments in the Oderbruch action area are part of the cooperation agreement that
we closed in 2020 with the state of Brandenburg and the city of Eberswalde. Goal
is to revitalize the Brandenburg Quarter and its potential as a livable district
with great infrastructure density and to polish up its image. That above all
good apartments help, as shown by the successes in the Havelland and Cottbus areas. here
five houses have already been renovated and fully rented. That the people of downtown and
in other quarters you won't find nearly as modern apartments as are being built here
a great opportunity for the quarter. Our board duo, Volker Klich and Guido Niehaus, are packing
her by the forelock.
