Architect Martin Maleschka, born in Eisenhüttenstadt in 1982, is the documentarian of building-related art in the GDR and has since 2005 built up what is now the most extensive pictorial documentation of this kind. With his garage gallery, Martin Maleschka is now also drawing attention to the countless GDR garages that have received little architectural attention. They were often realized in communities and also functioned as a meeting place and retreat.

A current garage gallery by Maleschka has been in the “Galerie Fenster” on Prignitzer Strasse since March 19th. The exhibition is to be expanded piece by piece and so the team is looking for garage insights. So out with the cameras and into the garages. It doesn't matter what's in the garage. Whether the fishing accessories, the toy car collection or your own car. Each image expands the collection and shows the diversity. Pictures are best emailed to post@mescal.de Posted.

And then: Who will open their garage doors on April 22, 2023 for the GARAGEN walk with Martin Maleschka as part of Guten-Morgen-Eberswalde? The start is at half past ten in the morning in the Galerie Fenster at Prignitzer Straße 50. Brandenburg Quarter Eberswalde!
