Brandenburgisches Viertel
In April 2020 we started BRAND.VIER - the largest renovation project in Eberswalde's history. A cooperation agreement between 1893, the city of Eberswalde and the state of Brandenburg gives the love for the Brandenburg quarter a boost. In the next 10 years, blocks of flats will be extensively renovated, the road network renewed and the living environment beautified. The focus of BRAND.VIER is always the neighborhood and the feeling.

If you meet this penguin in the future, it will be about sustainability, climate and environmental protection at 1893. In various areas, we are concerned with how we can better anchor environmental and climate protection in the company and how we can support our members, their to make everyday life more sustainable.
The many different projects have one goal:
To keep our planet worth living in for our children and grandchildren. We were looking for an image that would make the topic more tangible. To make it easier for us and our members to make an effort.

His icy world may soon be gone as the Earth warms up. That's why we always do everything we set in motion for the penguin in the future. So that other penguin generations can survive in the ice. Just as our following generations should have a good life on our planet. Take a close look: there is a little penguin standing in front of our penguin. Did you spot him? It is also a generational contract between old and young. Everyone must do their part to ensure that life on earth remains worth living.
For us, it's not just energy prices that prompt us to act. It's also the penguin. Let's save energy and greenhouse gases together.

BBU honors the 1893 for cooperation with BARshare and HEBEWERK: Association of Berlin-Brandenburg housing companies recognizes the joint climate protection idea as a showcase project for rural areas.
The BBU association of Berlin-Brandenburg housing companies awarded the Eberswalde 1893 housing cooperative special recognition for its climate protection efforts. The association honored the cooperation of the cooperative with the BARshare initiative of the Barnim district works and with the association HEBEWERK.
1st place: Digitized rental process
First place goes to the Eberswalde 1893 eG housing cooperative, which has digitized its entire letting and communication process. Due to a previous vacancy rate of 20 percent, the cooperative has positioned itself on the local housing market with a variety of customer and sales-oriented digitization measures. The vacancy rate was reduced by six percentage points within two years.

Eberswalde. The Eberswalde 1893 housing cooperative won the AktivBo customer crystal for the highest service index in the category of up to 3.999 apartments, bringing a coveted prize to Eberswalde. Every two years, the Hamburg-based company AktivBo compares the companies in which it conducts tenant surveys and selects the winners at its so-called benchmark event. The 1893 had a survey conducted among its 2019 members from August to October 2.884.
Our proprietary app Loft2go was nominated as a digital pioneer
In September 2022, our tenant app Loft2go was nominated for the "Digital Pioneers of the Housing Industry" award. With our app we have landed among the 3 best companies nationwide. The development of the app was controlled by one of our cross-functional teams together with the start-up Spiri.Bo from Hamburg.

For our first BRAND.VIER renovation project on Havellandstraße, we received the "usually good" seal of quality in October 2022 from BBU board member Maren Kern and the Minister for Infrastructure and State Planning Guido Beermann.
After our member evaluation of tenant satisfaction at the beginning of 2022, we received 3 prizes from Aktiv Bo. Across Germany, we received awards in the categories "Greatest improvement in the service index", "Highest product index" and "Highest service index on the housing market among 3.999 apartments".
